Exclusions

Exclusions Applicable to Sport Participation Accident and Named Illness Coverage

 

Sportify scholarship athlete insurance policy does NOT cover any of the following causes (whether wholly; partially; directly; indirectly) contributed to/aggravated by:

1. Suicide, self-destruction, attempted suicide or self-destruction, or intentionally self-inflicted injury, while sane or insane;

2. A criminal or felonious act committed by the Insured or the Protected Athlete

3. War or any act of war, whether war is declared or not; as defined under War, Terrorism and Mass Destruction Exclusion- attached to coverage policy wording.

4. The death of the Protected Athlete, howsoever Furthermore, no claim shall be assumed payable under this Policy in the event of the disappearance of either the Insured or the payablerotected Athlete;

5. Non-prescribed medication and performance enhancing substances, including but not limited to, anabolic steroids or corticosteroids

6. The Protected Athlete;
  • being under the influence of or impairment by alcohol consumption, as defined by the laws of the state /country in which this Policy was delivered;
  • being under the influence of drugs or narcotics that are not lawfully available, unless prescribed for the Protected Athlete by a qualified medical physician;
  • using any drugs or substances in violation of the rules or regulations of the governing body of the sport in which the Protected Athleteparticipates;

7. Any activities that violate the terms of the Athletic Scholarship awarded to the Protected Athlete or violate the rules/regulation of the governing body of the sport in which the Protected Athlete participates;

8. Pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth or abortion;

9. Osteoarthritis, arthritis or any other degenerative process of the joints, bones, tendons or ligament;

10. Nuclear reaction, nuclear radiation or radioactive contamination- definition attached to coverage policy wording

11. Any claim which is considered to be motivated by the Insured or the Protected Athlete as a willful or deliberate attempt to commit fraud against or misrepresent a material fact in jeopardy of the Underwriters.

NOTE: PLEASE REFER TO THE ACTUAL INSURANCE POLICY FOR COMPLETE DETAILS OF COVERAGE AND EXCLUSIONS. THE POLICY WORDING WILL FORM THE ENTIRE BASIS FOR THE INSURANCE CONTRACT AND WILL SUPERSEDE ANY AND ALL SPECIFICATIONS, QUOTES, AND PRIOR OFFERS OF COVERAGE UNLESS SPECIFICALLY AGREED BY THE UNDERWRITER AND CONFIRMED TO YOU IN WRITING.
